About this project
Why New Student Outreach? New Student Outreach is our busiest time of the year as we meet hundreds of new students who have just arrived on campus. On the outside, it looks like just a flurry of activities but, in actuality, NSO is about the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, “Whoever believes in me … rivers of living water will flow from within them”(John 7:38). NSO is about the opportunity to love new SIU students extravagantly and offer them hospitality. It is about inviting people to come and see this man named Jesus who offers living water. And, it is about us being people from whom rivers of living water flow. Day's Wage - Give $15o
Day's wage is a way to serve the SIUC chapter and the campus this summer! It's a way to to use your God given resources to advance His mission on campus as you live out biblical stewardship. Through Day's Wage you can learn to: -Utilize God's resources to invest in His work -Begin (or grow in) the discipline of giving to the work of the Lord -Be reminded that we all have belongs to God and is a gift -Take joy in what he has given you and give from what you have We know that for some of you giving $150 is over your total Day's Wage giving and for others that's nothing. However, if each person gave at least $150 we'd reach our goal in no time. If $150 is a lot, consider asking friends, parents, grandparents, or churches if they'd give towards InterVarsity's mission on campus and our ability to do NSO well. You'll be surprised, people will be excited to hear how God is using you to impact the lives of other college students on campus. What does the money go towards?
All the practical things that make NSO happen such as: -food (block party, pool party, ice cream social, 1st few LGs) -snow cone supplies (cups, ice, syrup, extension cords, table cloths) -printing (posters, handouts, 1/4 sheets, brochures) -banners & proxe stations(red cup) -room/space reservations -t-shirt printing setup deposit Stretch goals
If we exceed our NSO giving goal there are some exciting stretch goals to come that could make our NSO events even more full of awesome!! The first stretch goal will be revealed when we hit 50% of our goal! (there also may be some fun rewards too!) |
